Episode 3
Alice looked at her husband suspiciously, her eyes narrowing as she tried to read his expression. "What's going on, Johnson? You're not telling me something," she said, her voice firm but laced with concern.
Johnson shifted uncomfortably, his eyes darting around the room as he tried to come up with an excuse. "I told you, I was just cleaning the house. I'm sweaty and dirty, that's all," he repeated, trying to sound convincing.
But Alice was not buying it. She had been married to Johnson for over a decade, and she knew him like the back of her hand. She could tell when he was hiding something from her.
"Johnson, I want to come in and take a shower. I've been traveling for hours, and I'm exhausted," Alice said, trying to push past her husband.
But Johnson blocked her way, his arms spread wide as he stood in front of the bedroom door. "Not now, Alice. Please, just give me a few minutes," he pleaded, his voice laced with desperation.
Alice's eyes narrowed as she looked at her husband. What was he hiding from her? Why didn't he want her to come into the bedroom?
"Johnson, what's going on? You're starting to scare me," Alice said, her voice firm but laced with concern.
Johnson took a deep breath, trying to come up with an excuse. "I...I was just...uh...trying to surprise you. Yeah, that's it. I was trying to surprise you with a romantic evening, and I didn't want you to see the mess I made," he said, trying to sound convincing.
But Alice was not buying it. She knew her husband too well, and she could tell when he was lying to her.
"Johnson, I don't believe you. You're hiding something from me, and I want to know what it is," Alice said, her voice firm and determined.
Johnson sighed, knowing he couldn't keep up the charade any longer. But he couldn't let Alice into the bedroom, not with Amaka hiding in there.
"Alice, please...just trust me. I'll tell you everything later, I promise. Just give me a few minutes, okay?" Johnson pleaded, his eyes begging his wife to understand.
But Alice was not backing down. She stood her ground, her arms crossed as she glared at her husband.
"I'm not moving until you tell me what's going on. You're hiding something from me, Johnson, and I want to know what it is," Alice said, her voice firm and determined.
And with that, the standoff began. Johnson stood in front of the bedroom door, blocking Alice's way, while Alice stood her ground, refusing to back down.
The tension between them was palpable, the air thick with unspoken words and hidden secrets. Amaka, hiding in the bedroom, held her breath as she listened to the exchange between Alice and Johnson.
She knew she was the reason for the tension, and she felt a pang of guilt for putting Alice and Johnson in this situation. But she couldn't come out now, not with Alice standing outside the door.
As the standoff continued, the minutes ticked by slowly. Johnson's sweat dripped down his face as he tried to come up with a plan, while Alice's eyes narrowed as she tried to read her husband's expression.
Amaka, meanwhile, held her breath, waiting to see what would happen next. Would Alice discover her hiding in the bedroom? Or would Johnson find a way to deflect her suspicions?
Only time would tell.
Alice's eyes never left her husband's face, her gaze piercing as she tried to read his expression. "Johnson, I know you're hiding something from me. And I'm not moving until you tell me what it is," she said, her voice firm and resolute.
Johnson shifted uncomfortably, his eyes darting around the room as he tried to come up with an excuse. "Alice, please...just trust me. I'll tell you everything later, I promise. Just give me a few minutes, okay?" he pleaded, his voice laced with desperation.
But Alice was not backing down. She stood her ground, her arms crossed as she glared at her husband. "I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what's going on. You're hiding something from me, Johnson, and I want to know what it is," she repeated, her voice firm and determined.
Johnson sighed, knowing he couldn't keep up the charade any longer. But he couldn't let Alice into the bedroom, not with Amaka hiding in there. "Alice, please...just listen to me. I'll explain everything later, I promise. Just give me a few minutes, okay?" he pleaded again.
But Alice was not listening. She was too busy trying to read her husband's expression, trying to figure out what he was hiding from her. "Johnson, I've had enough of your lies. I want to know what's going on, and I want to know now," she said, her voice rising in anger.
Johnson took a deep breath, trying to calm his wife down. "Alice, please...just calm down. I'll tell you everything, I promise. Just give me a few minutes, okay?" he pleaded again.
But Alice was beyond reason. She was furious, and she wanted answers. "I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what's going on. You're hiding something from me, Johnson, and I want to know what it is," she repeated, her voice firm and determined.
And with that, the standoff continued. Johnson stood in front of the bedroom door, blocking Alice's way, while Alice stood her ground, refusing to back down. Amaka, hiding in the bedroom, held her breath as she listened to the exchange between Alice and Johnson.
The tension between them was palpable, the air thick with unspoken words and hidden secrets. The minutes ticked by slowly, each one feeling like an eternity as the standoff continued...
As the standoff continued, Johnson's eyes darted around the room, searching for a way to end the impasse. He knew he couldn't keep Alice blocked out of the bedroom forever, but he couldn't let her in either, not with Amaka hiding in there.
Suddenly, an idea struck him. He remembered the bottle of wine he had opened earlier, the one he had been drinking from before Alice arrived. He quickly grabbed the bottle and poured some of the wine into a glass.
"Alice, please...just calm down. Let's talk about this like adults," Johnson said, holding out the glass of wine to his wife.
Alice's eyes narrowed suspiciously, but she took the glass from Johnson. She was still fuming, but she was also getting tired. Maybe a drink would calm her down, she thought.
As soon as Alice took a sip of the wine, Johnson knew he had to act fast. He had spiked the wine with a sedative, one that would knock Alice out cold. He had been planning to use it on Amaka, but now he was using it on his wife instead.
Within minutes, Alice started to feel dizzy. She stumbled and fell, the glass of wine shattering on the floor. Johnson quickly caught her and laid her down on the couch.
As Alice lay there unconscious, Johnson quickly turned his attention to Amaka. "Amaka, go to your room and lock the door. Now!" he whispered urgently.
Amaka quickly scrambled out of the bedroom and ran to her own room, locking the door behind her. She leaned against the door, her heart racing with fear. She had never seen Johnson like this before, and she didn't know what he was capable of.
As she caught her breath, Amaka couldn't help but wonder what would happen next. Would Johnson try to hurt her again? Or would Alice wake up and intervene? Amaka didn't know,
Next morning, Amaka heard a knock on her door, she went to open the door and turned to be Alice, she entered her room looking angry with her franking eyes then suddenly.........
